💛 Sweet Treats & Family Dreams:
Karie Anne’s Comes to Bountiful
There’s a new reason to satisfy your sweet tooth in Bountiful — and it comes with a whole lot of heart behind it.
Meet the Davie Family, the proud new owners bringing Karie Anne’s to the community they’re honored to call home. For Nate and Megan Davie, caring for others has always been part of who they are. Nate works in healthcare services, while Megan serves as a Registered Nurse, and together they’ve built a life centered around family, connection, and serving others.
At home, life is full of energy and excitement with four kids involved in sports, crafting, and dreaming up big ideas for their newest adventure. And now, that adventure is becoming a reality right here in Bountiful.

Their love for Karie Anne’s began during family trips to Idaho — though eventually, they joke, the trips became more about visiting Karie Anne’s than visiting family 😄. What started as a favorite family tradition quickly turned into a dream of bringing that same fun, joy, and delicious experience home to their own community.
Now, they’re excited to officially share Karie Anne’s with Bountiful and create a place where families, friends, and neighbors can gather for something sweet and memorable.
And good news for local fans — each Karie Anne’s location stays in the same spot all summer long 😀 You’ll find the Bountiful location at 75 S 500 W!
From the Davie Family to yours — welcome to Bountiful, Karie Anne’s! ✨

🥫 Bountiful Food Pantry Needs Volunteer Drivers for Saturday Food Drive
The Bountiful Food Pantry is putting out an urgent call for volunteers ahead of this Saturday’s National Postal Service Food Drive on May 9. Organizers say they need at least 30–40 drivers to help collect donated food from postal routes across southern Davis County and deliver it back to the pantry between 9 AM and noon.
Drivers simply need a vehicle and a few free hours Saturday morning. The pantry is also looking for “runners” — volunteers who can ride along and help load donations for drivers who may have mobility limitations. Community groups, families, church groups, and individuals are all encouraged to step in and help.
The annual food drive is one of the pantry’s biggest donation events of the year and helps stock shelves heading into the busy summer months, when many local families face higher food costs while children are out of school.
Why It Matters: A few hours of volunteering Saturday morning could help collect thousands of pounds of food for local families in need across South Davis County.
👉 Volunteers can sign up here.
💐 Layton Hills Mall Hosts Mother’s Day Event Focused on Wellness and Mental Health
Layton Hills Mall is hosting “Mom’s Day to Shine” on Saturday, May 9, from 2–4 PM at Center Court. The free event includes craft activities, giveaways, a sound bath hosted by Divine Yoga Studio, and a fundraiser supporting North Davis Project Illumination and local mental health awareness efforts. Families can also purchase Spark Signs and $1 hope cards to support the cause. 👉 Read More

🐄 Rare Two-Headed Calf Born at Southern Utah Ranch
A southern Utah ranch family says they witnessed something they’d never seen in more than 150 years of cattle ranching: a two-headed calf born May 1 at Dry Lakes Ranch in Parowan. Ranchers initially believed the mother cow was delivering twins before discovering the calf had a rare condition called “dicephalus parapagus,” where one body develops with two heads. The calf was stillborn, but the ranch plans to preserve it for education and research purposes.
Why It Matters: While outside the South Davis corridor, the story has drawn statewide attention because of how extraordinarily rare the condition is in livestock.

⚾ Layton Walks Off Farmington in Extra-Inning Battle
Farmington and Layton delivered a thriller Tuesday afternoon, battling into the 11th inning before Layton secured a 9-8 walk-off win at home.
The Phoenix stayed competitive all game behind a strong offensive performance from Tanner Madsen, who drove in 3 runs, while Ryland Drollinger added two hits. Farmington finished with 16 hits on the day, but Layton answered with 16 hits of their own and pushed across the winning run in the bottom of the 11th.
Layton’s Andres Cedeno picked up the win with 5 strikeouts, while Farmington’s Britton Graham was tagged with the loss. Despite the tough finish, the Phoenix showed plenty of fight in one of the more exciting Region matchups of the week.
