🌊 Great Salt Lake Gets a Surprising Update
A new update from scientists monitoring the Great Salt Lake says recent water levels are higher than expected after a couple of wetter seasons. While the lake is still below historic averages, the boost has helped improve some ecological conditions and slow the most urgent decline concerns. Experts say continued conservation and smart water management are still critical for the lake’s long-term health.
Why It Matters:
The health of the Great Salt Lake directly affects air quality, wildlife, and even winter snow in Davis County communities. 👉 Read More

📚“The Twig” Library Opens Today
The temporary home for the Bountiful Branch of the Davis County Library—nicknamed “The Twig”— is now open for business at 85 N Main Street. The space offers book checkouts, Wi-Fi, computers, study areas, and children’s story time starting next week while the main library undergoes renovations. The location will operate for about 18 months, with a formal grand opening planned for March 25.
Hours are Monday through Thursday 10 am until 9 pm. Friday and Saturday 10 am until 6 pm. Closed on Sunday.
Why It Matters:
Bountiful residents still have a convenient spot for books, internet access, and kids’ programs while the main library gets its long-awaited renovation.

✨ Local Writers Honored in NSL Reads Contest
The City of North Salt Lake has announced the winners of the 2026 NSL Reads Short Story Contest, themed “Make Your Own Magic.” The annual contest celebrates local students and residents who shared original short stories inspired by creativity and imagination. Winners from multiple age groups were recognized for their standout writing.
Why It Matters:
Programs like NSL Reads highlight local talent and encourage young writers in the community to share their creativity. 👉 Read the Winning Stories

🏐 Farmington Boys Volleyball Falls to Spanish Fork
The Farmington High School Phoenix boys volleyball team fell 75–46 to the Spanish Fork High School Dons in a nonregion matchup. Spanish Fork controlled the game early, scoring 25 points in each of the first three quarters to build a commanding lead. Farmington struggled to match the Dons’ consistent offense and defense.
Why It Matters:
Early nonregion matchups help the Phoenix gain experience and adjust before region play ramps up later in the season.

🐾 Dogs Bring People Together
At Preppy Paws, we believe dogs do more than wag tails — they help build stronger communities. When owners learn how to communicate clearly with their dogs, it creates confidence, trust, and a deeper bond.
Well-mannered dogs also help make shared spaces like parks, trails, patios, and neighborhoods more enjoyable for everyone. Programs like the AKC Canine Good Citizen celebrate dogs who can behave politely in public and be trusted members of the community.
The result?
• Stronger relationships between dogs and their people
• Safer, more welcoming public spaces
• More opportunities for dogs to join their families in everyday activities
When dogs feel confident and understood, they’re happier — and so are the people around them.
🐶 Stop by Preppy Paws anytime to learn more about training opportunities, community events, and ways to help your dog become a confident, well-mannered companion.

✨ Routine Care Keeps Dogs Healthier
Routine hygiene and wellness care help dogs live longer, happier lives. While traditional dog groomers focus on stylized haircuts, Scenthound focuses on the wellness of every pup that comes through their doors.
In fact, 9 of the 10 most popular dog breeds — including Frenchies and Labs — don’t require haircuts, but they do need routine hygiene like bathing, ear cleaning, nail trimming, and teeth brushing to stay clean and healthy.
Regular visits also help dogs stay familiar and relaxed with grooming, making the experience easier and more comfortable over time.
