๐บHawaiian Style Ukulele Lessons
in Bountiful
Welcome to Ukulele Lessons in Bountiful, taught by the talented Jared Silva, also known as Mister Jinrai. Nestled in the heart of Bountiful at 650 S Main St, Jared offers a unique and enriching musical experience that goes beyond traditional ukulele instruction.
Meet Jared Silva
Originally from the enchanting island of Maui, Jared Silva brings the aloha spirit to Utah. Jaredโs musical journey began at the age of 13, inspired by the iconic melodies of Braddah IZ and influenced by legends such as Bob Marley, Eric Clapton, and Carlos Santana. His passion for music was nurtured by Mr. Dale Nitta at Maui High School, where he received advanced instruction and developed a distinctive style blending Flamenco techniques with contemporary Hawaiian and Reggae rhythms.
A Unique Musical Journey
Jaredโs extensive experience spans a variety of venues, from intimate open mic nights and fundraisers to bars, cafes, and private gatherings. His expertise extends beyond performance to include music production and record creation. As a dedicated instructor, Jared continuously refines his craft through practice and ongoing lessons, ensuring he provides top-notch education for his students.
What Sets Jared Apart
Many ukulele enthusiasts hit a plateau and lose interest, but Jaredโs mission is to reignite that passion by showcasing the ukuleleโs vast potential. He aims to dispel the myth that the ukulele is limited to Hawaiian music, revealing its versatility and encouraging students to unlock their full musical capabilities. In addition to ukulele lessons, Jared offers setup services for guitars and electric basses, ensuring studentsโ instruments are always in top shape.
Community Involvement
Jared believes in the power of community and the importance of supporting local businesses. He promotes local shops, supports startups, and fosters a sense of mutual support and community.

Gas Prices Drop as Utah Prepares for Busy Fourth of July Travel
Fourth of July travel could break records with 71 million Americans traveling, thanks to the holiday falling on a Thursday. Utah expects minor delays mainly on Wednesday, particularly on I-15, and near national parks due to construction. Gas prices in Utah are lower than last year, with the cheapest along the I-15 corridor.

Clear Your Clutter for a Cause: Woods Cross High Theatre Fundraiser
The Woods Cross High School Theatre Department is launching a fundraising campaign to support their 2024-2025 season, which includes seven shows, highlighted by "Phantom of the Opera." The department is seeking donations of used clothing and small household items from the community to reach their goal of raising $1,000.
The fundraiser, spearheaded by FUNDriveยฎ Coordinator Liz Christensen, runs from now to September 2, 2024. Community members are encouraged to clean out their closets and donate gently used items. Donations can be dropped off during designated Community Collection Days or at the Little Theatre during school hours.
Community Collection Days:
- July 6: 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at the Theatre Shed
- August 8: 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the Little Theatre
Drop-off Location:
- Woods Cross High School Theatre Shed and Little Theatre
600 West 2200 South Woods Cross
The department is accepting the following items:
- Clothing: Menโs, womenโs, and childrenโs clothes, shoes, scarves, handbags, wallets, fashion accessories, belts, and backpacks.
- Household Textiles: Bedding, comforters, blankets, sheets, towels, linens, tablecloths, curtains, and pillows.
- Small Household Goods: Kitchen items, home decor, knick-knacks, toys, games, and small electronics.
- Books & Media: All genres of paperback and hardcover books (media needs to be boxed separately).
Donors are asked to ensure all items are clean and in sellable condition. Clothes and textiles should be packed in tall kitchen bags, and household goods should be tightly packed in boxes. Books should be separated from household goods and media.
This fundraiser is a great opportunity for the community to declutter their homes while supporting local arts. For more information, contact Liz Christensen at [email protected].
