BLM Urges Caution as Target Shooting Ignites Wildfire in Utah

A human-caused wildfire near the Great Salt Lake burned 109 acres of BLM land on May 24 before being fully contained. Officials linked the blaze to unsafe practices such as target shooting near rocks and urged the public to follow fire safety guidelines, especially during dry, windy conditions. The BLM reminded residents that fireworks and incendiary ammunition are banned year-round in Utah.

Lagoon Thrill Ride Turns Viral as Phone Takes the Plunge

A ride on Lagoon’s popular Cannibal roller coaster turned into an unforgettable — and unfortunate — moment for one park-goer when her phone slipped out mid-ride and took a dramatic plunge.

Captured on a now-viral video, the girl’s phone can be seen slipping out during the ride’s intense first drop. For a brief second, it hovers in the air before falling out of sight, presumably to the ground far below. The moment her expression shifts from excitement to shock captures the heart-sinking realization many can relate to.

As her friend records the ride, their exchange makes it clear something has gone terribly wrong. The girl quickly notices her phone is gone, and panic sets in. The mix of thrill and sudden loss turns a fun roller coaster experience into a cautionary tale.

This incident serves as a timely reminder to secure all belongings before boarding any ride — especially high-speed thrillers like Cannibal. A locker, zipped pocket, or small secured bag can prevent turning your favorite device into a lost-and-found statistic — or an unwilling internet celebrity.
