New Utah NHL Team Debuts Preseason Schedule and Jerseys
The Utah Hockey Club has announced its preseason schedule for the upcoming 2024-25 season, which includes two games to be played in Utah. For this season, the team will operate under the temporary name "Utah Hockey Club." The teamβs colors will be rock black, salt white, and mountain blue, reflecting the natural beauty of Utah. Jerseys bearing the name "Utah" will be available for fans to purchase at the NHL Draft Party on June 28. Meanwhile, fans are currently voting on a permanent team name, with the final decision expected to be announced soon.

Police Investigate Deadly Road Rage Incident in Clearfield

Pony Express Re-enactment to Ride Through Utah This Sunday
This Sunday, June 23, 2024, the National Pony Express will be riding through Utah as part of their historic re-enactment, transporting mail from St. Joseph, Missouri, to Sacramento, California, on horseback, just as it was done in 1860. This event offers a unique opportunity for residents to witness a living piece of history.
The schedule for the day includes several stops in Utah:
- 10:30 AM: This Is the Place State Park, Salt Lake City
- 11:30 AM: Murray City Park, Murray (Team exchange)
- 2:00 PM: 14400 S. Redwood Rd., Bluffdale
- 2:40 PM: Crossroads Blvd. & Redwood Rd., Lehi
- 3:40 PM: Pony Express Memorial Park, Eagle Mountain
- 4:00 PM: Camp Floyd State Park, Fairfield
- 5:30 PM: Pony Express Monument, Faust
- 8:30 PM: Simpson Springs Pony Express Station, Simpson Springs
Several exchanges will take place within Draper city limits, marked by dots on the provided FB map below. During these exchanges, riders will hand off the mail to the next rider, maintaining the authenticity of the historical experience. Horses will travel between a lead and a follow vehicle, except during these exchanges.
Residents are encouraged to be patient and respectful as the riders pass through. The National Pony Express appreciates the community's support in keeping this important piece of American history alive.
For those interested in following the route or witnessing an exchange, the map provides detailed information on where these will take place within Draper. This re-enactment is a wonderful educational opportunity for all ages, showcasing the endurance and dedication required to carry out the original Pony Express service.
