Service and Remembrance: Utah Volunteers Mark 9/11 Anniversary
Today marks the annual 9/11 National Day of Service and Remembrance, where Utah communities, like many across the country, come together to honor the victims of the September 11, 2001, attacks through acts of service. This day has transformed from one of national mourning into a forward-looking tribute where communities unite to make a positive impact.
In Salt Lake City, volunteers from Granite School District are assembling thousands of food and hygiene kits to support local students and families in need. The district's initiative highlights the spirit of service, ensuring that community members come together to care for those less fortunate. Similar efforts are happening statewide, from cleaning parks in Centerville to repairing trails in Pleasant Grove and Saratoga Springs.
One of Utah's most iconic tributes is the Healing Field in Sandy, where nearly 3,000 American flags are displayed, each representing one life lost in the attacks. The field is a poignant reminder of the immense loss and resilience shown by the nation. Alongside this, various community-driven events, such as blood drives, food collections, and beautification projects, provide opportunities for Utahns to reflect and give back in honor of the lives lost and those who served on that tragic day.
This national day continues to bridge generations, helping younger citizens, many of whom were not born in 2001, understand the significance of 9/11 through collective acts of kindness and unity.

Hurry over to the Farmington Memorial Hike to Flag Rock.
DONβT MISS THIS - HEAD OVER NOW!!!
Farmington is holding a 9/11 memorial hike to Flag Rock, starting at 7:30 AM TODAY!. Participants will hike together to remember the victims and reflect on the events of 2001, with the hike starting from 100 N and Flag Rock Drive.

Utah Ranks Fourth Happiest State in 2024, Study Finds
Utah has been ranked as the fourth happiest state in the U.S. for 2024, according to WalletHub's annual study. The state consistently scores high in categories like safety, community engagement, and economic stability, which contribute to overall happiness. Utahβs top scores include a high volunteer rate and low unemployment. While it fell from the number one spot it held last year, the state continues to be recognized for fostering a high quality of life for its residents.
