🚨 ShakeOut Challenge Hits Davis County This Saturday
Davis County Sheriff’s Office is hosting the Great ShakeOut Challenge & Emergency Operations Center Open House on Saturday, April 18 at 9 AM. Residents can form teams, tackle real-life emergency scenarios, and learn practical preparedness skills. Registration closes April 17, and participants can even compete for emergency prep prizes.
Why It Matters: This hands-on event helps local families and workplaces be ready for disasters—something that can make a real difference when seconds count.

🚧 Water Shutoff Planned in Bountiful Neighborhood
The Quick Summary: Bountiful City will temporarily shut off water service near 420 East 1800 South on Wednesday, April 15 from 8–10 AM. The outage is needed to repair a valve, and affected residents should have received a door notice. Officials recommend storing enough water ahead of time for household use.
Why It Matters: Even a short outage can disrupt your morning routine—having water stored keeps things running smoothly.

⚠️ SLC Camping Rules Could Expand Overnight
Salt Lake City leaders are considering expanding a ban on overnight camping (11 PM–5 AM) to include sidewalks, park strips, and even vehicles. City officials say it’s aimed at improving public safety, while advocates argue there aren’t enough shelter resources and fear it could push homelessness into nearby communities. A public hearing is set for May 5, with a possible vote later in the month.
Why It Matters: While this is outside South Davis, changes like this could shift homelessness impacts into nearby cities—including communities in Davis County.

🥍 Woods Cross Falls to Olympus in Road Match
The Quick Summary: The Woods Cross girls lacrosse team dropped a road game to Olympus on April 14, falling 18–8. Despite putting up a solid offensive effort, the Wildcats couldn’t keep pace with the Titans’ scoring. The game was played at Olympus High School.
Why It Matters: It’s a tough loss for Woods Cross as they look to build momentum heading deeper into the season.

🌿Creativity Is Healing
Wellness isn’t just about movement and nutrition—it’s also about expression. When you create, move, or try something new, you give your mind a break from overthinking and your body a chance to release stress.
Whether it’s through art or movement, creativity helps you feel more present, grounded, and connected to yourself.
✨ Wellness Tip:
Do something creative this week—no pressure, no perfection.
Draw, paint, stretch, move your body… just let yourself be in it.
You might be surprised how much lighter you feel. 💜
