🦈 Shark Week in Bountiful Just Keeps Getting Better

If you thought the Temple View Shark excitement had peaked, think again. As Shark Week continues, local residents have been making a daily pilgrimage to Bountiful's famous shark—many arriving in full shark costumes and even leaving the shark small "gifts" as part of the celebration. What started as a fun neighborhood tradition has quickly turned into one of the most delightfully random community happenings of the summer.

One local family even had the chance to meet the shark's owner, who shared a line that perfectly sums it all up: "I always wanted to be famous... I just didn't know this is what it would be for!"

Honestly, we wouldn't have it any other way. 

We also received an adorable photo from a reader whose son made a special trip to visit the shark last summer. It's proof that this larger-than-life landmark has been creating smiles for families long before this year's Shark Week festivities.

Whether you're seeing it for the first time or making your annual visit, Bountiful's beloved shark continues to be one of our community's most unexpected—and most photographed—landmarks.

🚗 Witnesses Sought After Hit-and-Run in Bountiful Parking Lot

A local family is asking for the community's help after their vehicle was damaged in an apparent hit-and-run Tuesday evening.

According to a post shared in the You Know You're From Bountiful, UT if... Facebook group, the incident happened at approximately 5:23 p.m. in the parking lot of Cupbop in Bountiful. The vehicle was parked at the time, and the driver responsible reportedly left the scene without leaving any contact information.

If you were in the area around 5:20–5:30 p.m. and happened to witness the collision—or if you have dashcam footage that may have captured the incident or the vehicle involved—the owner is asking that you reach out.

Even a small detail could help identify the driver and bring some closure to the situation.

They're accepting new or gently used blankets, towels, pillowcases, sheets, and bath mats to help keep shelter pets warm and comfortable while they wait for their forever homes.
