Urgent: 14-Year-Old Missing from South Salt Lake

The Bountiful Buzz takes pride in sharing important community updates, especially when it involves helping to locate missing individuals. Police in South Salt Lake are currently searching for 14-year-old Leiya Johnson, who was last seen leaving her mother's home around 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Leiya is described as 5'2", 90 pounds, with long black hair worn in a bun. She was last seen wearing a gray hoodie with "PEACE OUT" on the front, white shorts, and beige Crocs. Due to her age, she is considered endangered. If you have any information, please contact the police at 801-840-4000.

Learn How to Protect Your Family: Sexual Abuse Awareness Event in Farmington

The Centerville Police Department is hosting a Sexual Abuse Awareness Class, led by Detective Kael Jackson. This important event aims to educate the community on various aspects of sexual abuse, including how to identify it, understand the trauma it causes, and the steps needed to report it. Additionally, parents will receive guidance on how to discuss this sensitive topic with their children. The class is scheduled for Wednesday, August 28th, at 6 PM and will be held at the Children's Justice Center in Farmington, UT. This is a valuable opportunity for community members to gain critical knowledge and support in addressing this serious issue.

Local Volunteers Provide New School Clothes for Hundreds of Davis County Students

Davis County's school year kicked off with a heartwarming initiative for students in need. The Davis Education Foundation, through its long-standing "Child Spree" event, organized a shopping spree for over 500 students, ensuring they start the year with confidence. Volunteers, including first-timers, shopped for clothing and essentials, guided by personalized videos from the students. The event, held at three Kohl's stores, provided each child with $150, with additional contributions from volunteers. This effort lightens the load for parents and helps students feel ready for school. 🚌 👍🏻 ❤️

VHS VIKES MINI CHEER CAMP
August 28th - 30th, 2024

Event Details:
Join us for the VHS Cheer Annual Mini Cheer Camp! This exciting event is open to kids ages 4-12 and will take place at the VHS Auxiliary Gym. Campers will participate in fun and engaging cheer practices on August 28th and 29th from 5-6 PM. The camp culminates with a thrilling halftime performance at the football game on August 30th!

Every Mini Cheerleader will receive:
- A t-shirt
- A bow
- The opportunity to learn and perform a cheer routine alongside the VHS Varsity Cheerleaders!

When:
- August 28th: Practice from 5-6 PM
- August 29th: Practice from 5-6 PM
- August 30th: Halftime performance at the football game
