Continued Support Needed for Noah Beck’s Medical Expenses: Donate to COTA

The Woods Cross community recently came together to support young Noah Beck, a brave 9-year-old who has faced a lifetime of medical challenges. Noah, the son of Millie and Clayton Beck, has battled chronic pancreatitis since birth. His journey has been filled with countless tests, emergency room visits, hospital stays, and surgeries. Despite the intense and persistent pain, Noah's resilience and strength have been unwavering.

In February of this year, Noah underwent a life-changing surgery called total pancreatectomy with islet autotransplantation (TPIAT) at Nationwide Children's Hospital, performed by the esteemed Dr. Laborda. This complex procedure involved removing his pancreas, three other organs, and part of his intestines. To prevent diabetes, insulin-producing cells were transplanted into his liver. The surgery aimed to relieve the severe pain associated with his condition, and it has been remarkably successful. Noah is now pain-free and experiencing a significant improvement in his overall health.

The Beck family is profoundly grateful for the support and expertise provided by Dr. Laborda, Nationwide Children's Hospital, and the Children's Organ Transplant Association (COTA). Their assistance has been invaluable in making Noah's surgery possible and ensuring his recovery.

Recently, Panda Express partnered with the Beck family for a special fundraising event to celebrate Noah's progress and raise funds for COTA. The event was a great success, with a portion of all sales from Panda Express being donated to COTA in honor of Noah. The funds raised will help cover transplant-related expenses for Noah and other children in need.

Although the fundraising event has ended, the need for support continues. The Beck family and the community encourage everyone to make direct donations to COTA to help children like Noah. Every contribution makes a significant impact on their lives and recovery.

For more information about Noah's journey or to make a direct donation, visit www.cotafornoahshope.com.

Lehi Man Still Missing After Over a Week, Police Seek Public's Help

Nathan Hoff, a 28-year-old resident of Lehi, Utah, has been missing for more than a week, leaving his family and the community deeply concerned. Hoff was last seen driving his 2004 silver Hyundai Accent, bearing a Utah license plate and a distinctive CTR (Choose The Right) sticker on the back.

Despite an active search, there have been no leads on Hoff's whereabouts. The Lehi Police Department has issued an Attempt to Locate (ATL) notice and registered his case with the National Crime Information Center, hoping to widen the search and gather more information.

The Hoff family is urging the public to share information on social media, as officers have noted that they often receive valuable tips through these platforms. Anyone who has seen or heard from Nathan Hoff is encouraged to contact Officer Lloyd at the Lehi Police Department at 385-201-1005.

In these trying times, the community's vigilance and willingness to spread the word can play a crucial role in bringing Nathan Hoff back home safely.

Air Quality Alert: California's Park Fire Smoke Chokes Utah's Wasatch Front

Dang it! Just when we thought the smoke had cleared, it's back. Wildfire smoke from California’s massive Park Fire has returned to Utah, worsening air quality along the Wasatch Front through at least Friday. The Park Fire, now the largest active wildfire in the U.S., has burned over 420,000 acres since July 24. A high-pressure system is pushing the smoke eastward, creating unhealthy conditions for sensitive groups. The Utah Division of Air Quality warns of potential new fires and flash flooding risks in southern Utah.
