Loose Bullet Prompts HOLD Protocol at Davis High School
A 9mm bullet was found in the Davis High School locker room on Monday, prompting a temporary HOLD protocol as police investigated. No weapons or additional ammunition were found, and classes resumed after the area was secured. Authorities are continuing their investigation and urge the public to stay alert and report concerns.

Mueller Park Closes for the Season, But Locals Still Find Their Way In
With fall colors in full display and crisp skies overhead, Mueller Park has quietly entered its off-season. This week, the park hosts packed up their trailer, locked the gate, and began their annual journey south โ a familiar sign for many in Bountiful that summer is officially over.
Though the main gate is closed and amenities like parking, water, and most restrooms are shut down, the park remains open in spirit. Trails are still accessible to hikers, bikers, and families looking to soak in the last of autumnโs beauty.
Only one restroom near the entrance remains open, and visitors will need to park elsewhere. But for many locals, these minor inconveniences are just part of the seasonal rhythm โ and the quieter setting only adds to the charm of this beloved canyon retreat.

Tragic Loss at Festival: Woman Killed by Flying Debris in Salt Lake Storm
Ava Ahlander, a 23-year-old from American Fork visiting home for a music festival, died after being struck by debris during a storm in Salt Lake City. Seeking shelter after the RedWest festival was evacuated, she was hit by a wooden plank near a construction site. She later died from brain stem injuries. Ava had chosen to be an organ donor, and her family finds comfort in knowing her donation is helping others. A fundraiser has been created to assist with funeral costs and grief support for her friends.

๐ Bountiful and Woods Cross Power Through Region 6 Volleyball Opponents
In Region 6 girls volleyball matchups held Thursday, October 9, both Bountiful and Woods Cross delivered strong performances on the court.
Bountiful earned a 3-1 victory over Olympus, showing consistency and resilience after dropping one set. The Redhawks maintained control throughout much of the match, using their momentum to close out the win in four sets.
Meanwhile, Woods Cross swept Alta 3-0 in a commanding display. The Wildcats maintained steady pressure and executed clean plays to take all three sets, securing a critical region win as the regular season winds down.
With postseason play on the horizon, both teams are building strong momentum at a crucial time in the schedule.
