Train Horns to Go Silent in Woods Cross as Quiet Zone Waiver is Approved

The Federal Railroad Administration has approved Woods Cross City's quiet zone waiver, meaning train horns will no longer sound at crossings from Salt Lake City to Ogden, except for emergencies and safety concerns. Residents have reacted with excitement and relief, while some have questioned the change. The city awaits formal notification from the FRA to the railroads before implementation begins. Falling Tree Critically Injures Man in Kaysville

A man was critically injured on Tuesday while cutting down a tree in Kaysville. Emergency crews responded to the scene near 300 North and 500 East just after noon, where they found the man suffering from severe injuries caused by the falling tree.

First responders provided immediate medical assistance before transporting him to the hospital in critical condition. Officials have not released details about the extent of his injuries or his current status.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident, including whether safety precautions were in place during the tree removal. They urge residents to use caution when cutting trees and to seek professional assistance when necessary.

🚨 Community PSA: Beware of Contractor Scam 🚨

A warning has been circulating in local Facebook groups about an individual named Randall Faulk (AKA Handy Randy), who has allegedly been scamming people across Utah County. Reports indicate that he takes upfront payments for services like junk removal, hot tub repair, and fireplace repair, then disappears without completing the work.

He is currently facing multiple fraud charges, and a court hearing is scheduled for Friday. If you or someone you know has been affected, you may want to report your case.

This is a good reminder to always verify that contractors are licensed, insured, and reputable before hiring them.
