Twinkling Trees Turn Salt Lake Street Into a Festive Favorite

I just had to share this—Michigan Avenue in Salt Lake City is absolutely glowing right now! 🎄

Every tree along the street is completely wrapped in holiday lights, from the base of the trunk all the way to the tiniest branches. It feels like you’re driving through a tunnel of twinkle lights—and yes, it’s as magical as it sounds.

Whether you're taking a slow drive, snapping photos, or just soaking up the festive vibes, this little stretch of the city is giving major holiday cheer. If you're nearby, don’t miss it!

Bountiful Neighborhood Adds a Giant Twist to Elf on the Shelf Tradition

In Bountiful, Utah, one neighborhood is taking the holiday spirit to new heights—literally—with a life-sized Elf on the Shelf that's become the centerpiece of a playful community game.

Nicknamed the “Elf Relocation Program,” the tradition started when a resident created a nearly human-sized elf doll. Now, neighbors take turns secretly moving the elf from yard to yard, trying to outdo each other before New Year’s Day.

There’s only one rule: the elf must remain visible from the street. The person who relocates the elf the most by the end of the holiday season wins a prize.

What began as a single decoration has turned into a fun, festive competition that brings laughter and connection to the neighborhood.

Hopebox Theatre's Holiday Show Nearly Sold Out—But the Real Spotlight Is on Supporting Julie

The Hopebox Theatre’s holiday production of White Christmas has been a resounding success, with tickets nearly sold out for its limited run. But behind the scenes of this festive performance lies a deeper mission—supporting one of their own.

Julie Newton, a beloved member of the Hopebox community, is currently battling cancer. In true Hopebox spirit, the theatre is rallying behind her and her family, offering a chance for the public to help even if show tickets are gone. Donations can be made directly to the Newton family through Venmo at @givehopebox, with 100% of contributions going to support Julie's fight and ease the financial burden during this challenging time.

The Hopebox Theatre is known for blending the magic of theatre with heartfelt purpose, and this season, they’re proving once again that their stage is about much more than entertainment—it's about hope, community, and lifting each other up.

Ballet West Warns of Ticket Scams as The Nutcracker Draws Holiday Crowds

Ballet West is cautioning the public about fraudulent ticket sales amid high demand for its holiday production of The Nutcracker. The company warns that unauthorized websites and sellers are scamming buyers with overpriced or fake tickets. Patrons are advised to buy only from Ballet West or ArtTix to avoid fraud.

Bountiful Girls Handle Wasatch in 5A Semifinal Rematch

Bountiful girls basketball defeated Wasatch 56-46 in a rematch of last year’s 5A semifinal. After a slow start, the Redhawks used balanced scoring and a dominant first half to secure the win. Milika Satuala led Bountiful with 15 points, improving their season record to 8-1.

With just days left until Christmas, a Bountiful family is spreading cheer by offering free and low-cost 3D-printed toys and fidgets—perfect for stocking stuffers. The kids behind the project are using their small business to give back, especially to families who may be struggling this season.

Smaller items are free, while larger or custom pieces are available for purchase. They’re also accepting anonymous donation requests and are willing to do small drop-offs for local families in need.

Holiday Lights and Heartwarming Giving at the Wheelwright Home

The Wheelwright family is lighting up the season once again with their much-loved holiday display — and this year’s show is already shining bright. The lights are officially on at 1537 N 175 W in Bountiful, and the magic is well underway!

Visitors are invited to come enjoy the interactive setup, complete with four push buttons that trigger festive surprises. To enhance the experience, guests can tune their radios to 99.3 FM or listen through the Tune2 app for a synchronized audio performance.

In the spirit of giving, the Wheelwrights are also collecting donations for two local families with young children. Guests who visit are encouraged to bring something to contribute and help brighten the holidays for those in need.

This joyful neighborhood tradition blends creativity, technology, and community kindness — a true celebration of the season.
