Davis County Hosts Fall Pumpkin Hunt with Prizes and Fun for All
This fall, Davis County is inviting residents to participate in an engaging Pumpkin Hunt, taking place at three popular locations: Davis Tech Campus, USU Botanical Gardens, and the Farmington/West Kaysville border. Each day, a wooden pumpkin is hidden at each site, and participants can choose one location to search when signing up for the hunt.
Once a pumpkin is found, participants scan a QR code attached to it, which earns them points that are tracked on a shared leaderboard. At the end of the event, the top five teams will receive grand prizes. Additionally, daily prizes are randomly awarded at each location during the week, so pumpkin hunters should keep an eye out for special notifications when they scan the code.
With fun prizes and friendly competition, the Davis County Pumpkin Hunt offers an enjoyable way for locals to explore their community this fall.

Estate Planning 101: Free Workshop to Help You Prepare for the Future
A free educational Estate Planning workshop is being held at the South Davis Recreation Center, offering attendees the opportunity to gain valuable knowledge about managing and distributing their assets. The workshop will cover how to decide who inherits what, when, and in what manner, as well as tips on avoiding probate and the common mistakes people make when planning their estates.
Participants will learn whether a will or trust is better suited for their needs and whether a trust should be revocable or irrevocable. Additionally, the workshop will provide insights on protecting children and grandchildren from being unintentionally disinherited due to divorce or other events. The session will also highlight the importance of having a trust and life insurance policy, especially for individuals from blended families.
This informative event is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 24, and Thursday, Sept. 26, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. For more details, check out the workshop schedule online.

Utah Mother Fights for Refund Over Unsafe Baby Product Sold Online
A Utah mother, Jillian Davis, bought a $376 car seat through Walmart's website, only to discover it was a counterfeit and unsafe for her newborn. After Walmart denied responsibility, claiming it was a third-party sale, Davis sought help from the "Get Gephardt" consumer investigation team. They contacted Walmart, which eventually refunded her with gift cards and initiated an investigation into the third-party seller. Walmart also has a system for reporting fraudulent activities on its marketplace.
