🎸 Student Bands Take the Stage at Bountiful High

Student musicians from across Northern Utah will compete at the Utah PTA North Multi-Region Battle of the Bands on Saturday, March 7 at 2:30 PM at the Bountiful High School Auditorium. Bands will perform original songs and popular covers while being judged on musicianship, stage presence, and audience engagement. Tickets are $8 and available at the door, with proceeds supporting the Utah PTA’s programs for students.

Why It Matters:
The event gives local student musicians a chance to perform on a big stage while bringing families and the community together to support arts programs in local schools.

🐰 Farmington Seeks Volunteers for Easter Egg Hunt

Farmington Parks & Recreation is asking for community volunteers to help prepare for the city’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt happening Saturday, April 4. Volunteers will help fill Easter eggs ahead of the event to make sure everything is ready for families and kids. Anyone interested can sign up by texting “bunny” to 801-451-0953.

Why It Matters:
Community volunteers help keep Farmington’s popular Easter Egg Hunt running smoothly for hundreds of local families.

🛩️ Hill AFB Neighbors Watching Iran Conflict Closely

Residents living near Hill Air Force Base say rising tensions between the U.S. and Iran have them paying close attention to global events. Some neighbors in nearby Clearfield said the conflict feels personal because pilots and personnel stationed at Hill may be involved in overseas operations. Local leaders say the community is prepared to support military families who may face deployments or uncertainty. (KUTV)

Why It Matters:
Many South Davis County families work at or have connections to Hill Air Force Base, meaning global conflicts can quickly affect local households and deployments.

🥎 Farmington Softball Walks It Off in 7–6 Thriller

Farmington (1–0) pulled off a dramatic 7–6 win over Deseret Peak in a nonregion matchup, thanks to a six-run explosion in extra innings. Deseret Peak held an early 2–1 lead after the first inning, but couldn’t stop Farmington’s late rally. Brenda Fonua led Deseret Peak’s offense, going 3-for-4 at the plate.

Why It Matters: Early-season wins like this build momentum for Farmington as they head into the heart of the high school softball season.

☀️ Sunlight Is Medicine

One of the simplest wellness tools is also one of the most overlooked: natural sunlight. Just a few minutes of morning light can help regulate your circadian rhythm, boost mood, and support better sleep later that night.

Your body uses natural light to reset its internal clock, balance hormones, and increase energy levels throughout the day.

✨ Wellness Tip:
Step outside within the first hour of waking up—even if it’s just for five minutes. Let the natural light hit your eyes (no sunglasses if possible), take a few deep breaths, and gently stretch your body.

This tiny habit signals to your brain: “It’s a new day.”

Sometimes the most powerful wellness practices are also the simplest ones. 🌞💜
