Barton Creek Invites All Muggles and Wizards to a Magical Halloween Carnival

Barton Creek Senior Living is conjuring up a magical Halloween celebration unlike any other, inviting the community to step into the enchanting world of Harry Potter. On October 29 from 4 to 5 p.m., visitors will enter through Platform 9 ¾ and be transported straight to Hogwarts for an immersive carnival full of wizarding delights.

Attendees can explore themed stations inspired by the beloved book series: receive a custom wand at Olivanders, sip on frothy butterbeer from the Three Broomsticks, and brew up some fun at a potion-making class hosted by none other than Professor Snape. To top off the adventure, guests will leave with their very own chocolate frog.

The Barton Creek team is embracing their magical roles to bring the Hogwarts experience to life, creating a spellbinding event designed to captivate both wizards and Muggles of all ages.

This festive gathering promises fun, imagination, and Halloween spirit, all within the cozy setting of Barton Creek Senior Living, located at 499 E 500 S in Bountiful, Utah.

TONIGHT! Villains Take Over Station Park for Spooky Family Night of Fun

Station Park is brewing up a magical evening filled with Halloween mischief and family-friendly fun this Thursday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The event promises an enchanting mix of live entertainment, interactive attractions, and themed activities designed to delight guests of all ages.

A major highlight of the evening is the high-energy stage performance by the popular Hexing Sisters, set to captivate the crowd from 5 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Immediately after the show, families can take part in a whimsical Hocus Pocus Academy, offering a hands-on, interactive experience especially geared toward children.

Throughout the event, a variety of favorite villains will be making appearances around the Village, including Frankenstein and his Bride towering above the crowd on stilts. Themed activities include a 360° photo booth, balloon twisters, and a craft corner for little creators. Vendor booths will also be scattered throughout, offering giveaways, prizes, and other spooky surprises.

With its blend of theatrical flair and engaging activities, this evening event at Station Park promises to be a seasonal celebration not to miss.

Lagoon’s Iconic Jet Star 2 Rollercoaster Retiring After Nearly 50 Years

Lagoon Amusement Park is saying goodbye to one of its most iconic attractions. Jet Star 2, a beloved rollercoaster that debuted in 1976, will officially retire at the end of the 2025 season — just shy of its 50th anniversary.

Known for its compact layout and thrilling turns, Jet Star 2 was built by Schwarzkopf Industries, a pioneer in roller coaster design. It has remained one of Lagoon’s most popular rides and is one of only two Schwarzkopf coasters at the park, alongside Colossus: The Fire Dragon.

To mark the occasion, Lagoon will stay open two extra weekends this year, giving fans a final chance to ride. The park’s season now extends through November 9, weather permitting.

Though the ride is retiring, Lagoon plans to introduce a new attraction in its place. Details remain under wraps, but the park promises it will deliver fresh excitement for visitors.

Utah Man Sentenced for Fake Rental, Forged Checks in Widespread Fraud Cases

A Utah man, Matthew Liutai Tanuvasa, has been sentenced to prison for multiple fraud cases involving forged checks, fake business services, and a fraudulent vacation rental scheme. His convictions span Washington and Utah counties, and his sentence includes up to 15 years in prison, concurrent terms for other offenses, probation, and over $11,000 in fines and restitution.

🏈 Bountiful Shuts Down Farmington in Second Half to Claim 14-3 Win

In a low-scoring defensive battle, Bountiful pulled away late to earn a 14-3 win over Farmington in a nonregion clash, bringing both teams to a 1-1 record on the season.

Farmington struck first, putting points on the board with a 36-yard field goal early in the first quarter. The teams then battled through a series of defensive stands, with neither side able to break through until just before halftime when Bountiful answered with a 23-yard field goal to even the score at 3-3.

The deadlock continued deep into the second half, with both defenses dominating the field. But Bountiful found its rhythm in the fourth quarter. A crucial 1-yard rushing touchdown with just over a minute left on the clock gave the Redhawks a lead they wouldn’t relinquish.

Bountiful’s defense was the standout of the night, holding Farmington scoreless over the final three quarters and keeping their offense in check to preserve the victory.
