Learn How Muscle Supports Weight Loss at Free Rec Center Event

South Davis Recreation Center is hosting a free educational lecture aimed at helping residents better understand the critical role muscle plays in weight management and overall health. Titled β€œThe Role of Muscle on Weight Loss,” the talk is scheduled for Wednesday, October 8, at 6:30 p.m. in the center’s upstairs meeting rooms, located just above the front desk.

Attendees will gain insights into how building and maintaining muscle can significantly boost metabolism, support fat loss, and contribute to long-term strength and vitality. The session is open to all and encourages attendees to bring a friend for a night of practical wellness knowledge.

This community lecture is part of the center’s ongoing effort to promote health education and empower individuals with tools for lifelong fitness.

πŸŽƒ Utah Tops the Nation for Halloween Spirit! πŸ‘»
Did you know Utah was ranked #1 in the country for Halloween spirit? From spooky yard haunts to full walk-through frights, locals turn their homes into hair-raising attractions!

Rain Drenches Utah Corn Maze Plans, But Haunted Attraction Rises After Dark

The heavy downpour on Saturday forced Glen Ray’s Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch in Spanish Fork, Utah, to shut down its daytime activities β€” a big loss for the family-run farm during its short six-week fall season. The storm canceled birthday parties and cost the business over $10,000 in missed revenue.

But the Larsens, who have farmed the land for five generations, quickly got to work. They laid down straw and prepped muddy paths to safely reopen their popular haunted attraction, the β€œField of Fright,” in time for nighttime visitors.

Launched eight years ago to support the farm through agritourism, the corn maze and pumpkin patch have become a vital income source. With only a few weekends left, the family hopes for dry weather and steady crowds to keep their legacy β€” and their land β€” thriving.

🏈 Local High School Football
Region 6 Roundup:

Bountiful Triumphs, Woods Cross Falls Short, Viewmont Shut Out

On October 3rd, Region 6 football brought highs and lows for local teams. Woods Cross fell 28-21 to Brighton in a weather-delayed battle. Bountiful secured a 42-31 win over Alta thanks to a crucial defensive touchdown and explosive running plays. Meanwhile, Viewmont struggled offensively in a 24-0 shutout loss to Olympus.

🌿 Wellness Wednesday with Erin 🌿

🌿 Women’s Wellness from the Ground Up πŸ‘£

Our bodies are wiseβ€”they’re always communicating what they need. Sometimes, all it takes is slowing down and listening through the soles of our feet. 🌿

Foot zoning is one of the most powerful tools for reconnecting with that wisdom. By stimulating specific points on the feet, we can help balance hormones, boost circulation, ease stress, and support the body’s natural rhythm. It’s not just about physical wellnessβ€”it’s about grounding your energy and nurturing your whole self.

✨ Wellness Tip:
Take five minutes today to give your feet a little love. Gently massage or stretch them before bed. You’ll be amazed how it calms your mind and helps you sleep more deeply.

And if you’re ready to go deeper, don’t miss this hands-on event designed just for women:
