UDOT Seeks Public Feedback on $65M Legacy Parkway Expansion
DAVIS COUNTY, Utah โ The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is proposing to add one lane in each direction to Legacy Parkway, stretching from Farmington to I-215, and is asking for public feedback.
The new lanes would be built between the current northbound and southbound lanes, keeping the roadโs footprint unchanged. UDOT says the project will help manage traffic growth, support alternative transportation options, and ease congestion during upcoming I-15 constructionโpotentially saving the state $200 million and finishing that work a year earlier.
The project is estimated at $65 million, with construction planned to begin in 2026, pending environmental approval.
A public meeting will be held Wednesday from 5โ7 p.m. at Foxboro Elementary School in North Salt Lake to review the draft State Environmental Study (SES) and gather input.
Public comments on the draft SES are being accepted through October 10 via:

Lagoon Gets Green Light for Exclusive 21+ Bar Inside Park
Lagoon Amusement Park in Farmington is planning to open a new 21-and-over bar next spring, following approval of its liquor license by the Utah Department of Alcoholic Beverage Services.
The bar will be located on the second floor of a rebuilt structure that once housed a carousel. It will operate as a private club, accessible only to VIPs and season pass holders, and feature two themed rooms.
Minors will not be allowed inside, and alcohol will not be permitted outside the venue. Renovations are expected to begin soon, with an opening targeted for the end of March 2025.
The license approval included a nod to Lagoonโs colorful past, referencing a saloon that operated at the park in the late 1800s.

Detectives Seek Help Identifying Suspects in Walgreens Theft
Local detectives are asking for the publicโs help in identifying two individuals involved in a recent theft at a Walgreens store. The suspects reportedly entered the store and took merchandise without paying before leaving the scene.
Surveillance images captured during the incident show the pair inside the store at the time of the theft. Authorities are now sharing those images in hopes that someone in the community can help identify the individuals.
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact local law enforcement. Tips can remain anonymous.

Scammers Are Buying Your Personal DataโNot Hacking It
Scammers no longer need to hack into systems to get your personal informationโthey can simply buy it. Data brokers legally collect and sell details like your name, address, shopping habits, and social media activity. While this data is often sold to advertisers, itโs also being used by scammers to create convincing, targeted scams.
Because these scams use accurate personal details, theyโre harder to spot. The Federal Trade Commission is proposing new rules to limit how data is collected and sold, but for now, individuals are encouraged to take control by tightening privacy settings, limiting what they share online, and using data removal tools.
In todayโs world, protecting your personal information means more than guarding passwordsโit means knowing whatโs already out there.
Stay proactive when it comes to your privacy. Scammers donโt need to break into your accounts if they can simply purchase your information in bulk. Be mindful of what you share onlineโthereโs no need to download every app or agree to tracking permissions that aren't essential.
Also, take advantage of new protections: Utah now has a law that gives you the right to request that companies delete your personal data. Use it to help limit your digital footprint and reduce the risk of being targeted.

โฝ๏ธ Farmington Falls Short in Region Clash with Syracuse
Farmington High girls soccer fell 2-0 to Syracuse in a crucial Region 1 match on Tuesday. Despite controlling possession early and creating several strong chances, the Phoenix couldnโt find the back of the net. Syracuse capitalized on limited opportunities, scoring in the 17th and 54th minutes to secure the win and take sole possession of first place in the region. The loss drops Farmington to 4-2 in region play.
